Attic Insulation

Attic insulation is an extremely effective method of reducing the cost of heating your home.

It is estimated that 25% of heat is lost through an uninsulated roof.

The recommended standard of roof insulation is currently at 300mm (2008 Building Regs) and many homes fall well below this level. We have 100mm, 150mm and 200mm fibreglass available to 'top up' your existing insulation.

Attic insulation will reduce your heating bills considerably.

Insulating a Dormer Roof

Recent changes have led to dramatic growth in utilisation of the roof space as a living area and loft conversions. Proper insulation can make a
massive difference in roof rooms all year round and make them much more comfortable living spaces.

If you have a room in a roof in an older house the chances are it will have very little insulation and will need a lot of heating in winter and be very
hot in summer. Newer conversions are likely to have some insulation, but if the work was carried out before 2008, when the building regulations
changed, it is likely to be well below current specifications. Ideally there should be a minimum of 300mm of insulation and you should Contact
Sheehy Insulation on 068 45305 to check what, if any, existing insulation is there.

The installation of insulation in loft rooms and roof conversions is a specialist task and not a DIY project as there are considerations from both
ventilation and fire protection. Several different products are available depending on the roof design and construction.
